I have stuffed and frozen Kongs at the ready to give to them to ensure their cooperation for the 30 minutes I'm on the phone. Occasionally a call will last a couple of hours. Believe me, I do everything in my power to prevent long-haul calls, but they happen. For those marathon calls, I pull out the secret weapon - empty peanut butter jars.
I love peanut butter. We go through a lot of it between the dogs and myself. Instead of tossing a jar when it is empty, I save it so the dogs can keep themselves busy licking it clean while I am on those long calls. A bomb could go off in the middle of the room and they wouldn't budge. Well, maybe they would, but they would take their jars with them.

May have to try that trick. On a home office day with a conf call is when my guys decide it's a great time to roo. Good thing I'm usually on mute and not the one talking
We do the same thing for Luna. In fact, we have an empty peanut butter jar ready to go. Our problem is that Luna will chew the jar to get to the bottom so we can only give it to her when we can watch her.
Wonder if this would work with Makenna while I'm doing school work with Evan? :D
Jason works from home too and he has the problem with whenever anyone calls the house..a roo fest breaks out. So it is impossible to hear the person and all they hear is a kennel in the background. wonder if a PB jar will work for that??

Oh boy can my mumma sympathize with you! My sister Bettina ALWAYS starts a ruckus when mumma gets on a conference call. And we do like peanut butter....
I use ramekins and smear the edges with peanut butter.
I have also discovered vanilla ice cream with peanut butter. Best use of a spoon ever. Oh, this is for me, not the boys.
